In September 2021 Weston-Super-Mare Division said goodbye to their division commissioner of 5 years and welcomed their new one. The old and new commissioners would like to say a few words at this time.

Outgoing Commisioner – Carolyn Welford

In the last five years as div comm I have seen many changes for WSM division. There has been a change in demographics in central WSM. The increase in new build housing areas, new programme and of course the Covid-19 Pandemic.

I have been pleased to work with the Division Exec team to agree a constitution, improve compliance and encourage leaders to stretch themselves and take on new roles.

Incoming Commissioner – Angie Stringer

Firstly, I’d like to thank Carolyn for everything she’s contributed to WSM Division over the last five years. I was both pleased and surprised to be appointed her successor.

I’m looking forward to my time as your Division Commissioner, getting to know and work with you all to take our Division forward and grow. After what has been a strange time for all of us over the past 18 months or so with Covid-19 interrupting our lives, it will be so good to get back to some sort of normality welcoming girls old and new into our units and for them and us to experience all the great opportunities Girlguiding has to offer. Exciting times ahead!….
