On Saturday 6th November, the Rainbows, Brownies & Guides from Priory district met at Kewstoke Village Hall to celebrate the district turning 40.
The girls spent the morning making crafts such as bunting (which was later put up for their disco and for the leader’s afternoon tea), decorating cupcakes, bookmarks, badges and glasses as well as African drumming before having lunch and then a disco by Action Pussycat. The girls had a wonderful time and it was really nice to get together as a district after so long apart.
After the girls went home ex-leaders from within the district came for a catch up and an afternoon tea. It was really nice to see everyone getting together and seeing young and old leader’s mixing together. The current district commissioner spoke about how much has changed within Girlguiding over the past 40 years from uniform to the programme we follow. The district commissioner also took the opportunity to thank all the leaders for their continued hard work over the years to make the district what it is today.
